Name: Benny Breed: Terrier mix Age: Adult Size: Medium Gender: Male Benny is a 2 to 3 year old male terrier mix. He weighs about 22 pounds. He is just a lovely guy. I think Benny would fit in just about any household – except perhaps a home with kitties. I was told that he likes to chase cats. He has not had much experience with life beyond his backyard, but it has just made him more determined to latch on to a family that will give him a chance to share his sweet temperament and loving personality. Benny deserves much more than life has dealt him so far. He will need help with housebreaking. Casper likes other dogs and cats. He is a good walker and likes to be outside and help you in the garden. He will sleep in a crate and likes older kids. Name: Alfie Breed: Cocker Spaniel Age: Adult Size: Medium Gender: Male Alfie is a very sweet 6 year old Cocker Spaniel who is looking for a forever family. Because Alfie is a Cocker Spaniel, as with all Cocker Spaniels, he will need to be groomed due to his long hair and his long ears. Alfie has a wonderful personality and gets along well with everyone, cats included. Alfie's favorite thing to do is to play with tennis balls and be with his family. Alfie loves lots of attention. He is crate trained, housebroken and knows some basic commands. He would benefit going to a training course to refresh him on how to be a well- behaved dog. Name: Junior Breed: Border Terrier mix Age: Adult Size: Small Gender: Male So you're looking for a new guy... you want him to be blond - maybe a little bit shaggy - eager to accompany you on excursions, listens when you talk, and gazes at you adoringly. But the last time you had such a guy, he spent the rest of the time lying on the couch! A pretty wheaten tan with a medium, wire coat, he is about 15 lbs. He was found as a stray in early April. He will sleep in a dog crate, walks nicely on a leash, and is good with children. He is fine with housetraining, but will need to learn your routine. He adjusted very quickly to his finder's home. Name: Riley Breed: Spaniel mix Age: Young Size: Small Gender: Male Riley is 7 months and could weigh between 20-25 lbs. Riley is a very sweet pup that can act like someone in his past has not been nice to him. He sometimes will cower and will act like he is not sure if you are going to be nice and love on him or hit him. Riley does like to be held and will snuggle with you and he always gives kisses. Riley is crate trained, housebroken and micro-chipped. Since Riley is a puppy, he will need a home with lots of patience and understanding. Riley will also need to go to a training course to help him be a well behaved dog! Name: Dexter Breed: Chihuahua Age: Adult Size: Small Gender: Male Dexter is a 1 yr old Chihuahua who weighs 6-7 lbs. Dexter was an owner-surrender to the SJ shelter. He had his front leg broken and the owners had tried to have it braced and could not afford any further treatment. His leg was bowed when he arrived at the shelter. The little leg was rebroken and shoulder bone placed in his leg to assist with his recovery. He had been in a cast and his movement had been restricted for some time. Dexter has now healed and is ready to find his forever home.

Name: *Mike Breed: Chihuahua Age: Adult Size: Small Gender: Male Meet Mike. He is a special little guy. His life started out in an unfortunate way as his prior owner neither cared for him or was ever very kind to Mike. This has scarred him in some ways so he is not so trusting of most men. He will need a patient and kind person; one who is willing to give Mike space when he needs it and love when he asks for it. He is not a dog who needs a lot of attention; he is actually a very low maintenance little fellow. Mike is crate trained and knows how to use a doggie door. He enjoys the company of other dogs and doesn’t seem to mind cats either. He is calm and quiet for the most part. Some of his favorite things to do is go for walks in the neighborhood, sit on your lap in the evening watching TV (he sleeps of course), traveling in the car, hanging with other dogs, burying himself under towels or blankets, and chewing on hair (yours not his). He is a smart dog and a good listener. Mike is 1 to 2 years old and weighs about 5lbs. He is in good health. He is microchipped , up to date on vaccines, neutered and Heartworm tested negative. He recently had a dental and his rear dew claws were removed.

Name: Eddie Breed: Chihuahua, Long-haired mix Age: Adult Size: Small Gender: Male Eddie is about 3 years old and weighs 5 pounds. This boy is a bundle of love and he shows it by jumping in your lap and giving kisses. He likes chewie bones, chasing balls and toys, and running laps in the back yard with his doggie friends. Eddie also likes cats, even if they don't like him ;). He just inches up to the kitty then rolls and his back and wiggles around offering up his belly. Eddie is potty trained and crate trained and will sit for treats. He loves to play fetch and will bring the ball right back to you. Then he will make you feel old and slow by quickly turning his head and running five steps away with it. Eddie wants a home without young children- they're a little too scary for him. Besides, he can't make them feel old and slow. Meet Pinto Bean. Pinto is a friendly, confident 2 year old, 7 lb. dog. He is a spunky little character who loves to go on walks, hang out with his family (especially cuddling) and does well in the car. Pinto is housetrained, crate-trained and gets along well with cats. Pinto would probably do best in an all adult home or one with older children. He's a real ladies man with female dogs (he knows he's quite handsome) and would be happy to be the only dog or the only male dog. He is social and people-oriented and would be very committed and loyal to his family. He has a great temperament, plays well with other dogs, and gets along with cats. He loves his "people". He is currently working on his housetraining, although he is currently crate trained. Koza will grow to be a large and strong dog so he will need an EXPERIENCED owner who is willing to give him continued obedience and socialization training sessions to shape him to be a good family companion.
