Ally Photo of dog Ally

Name: Ally

Breed: Chihuahua mix

Age: Adult

Size: Small

Gender: Female

Ally is a “perfect” little dog. Would be excellent for someone who has had little experience with dogs or may have become less able to take care of a dog, because she knows everything she needs to do. Give her a dog door and she will be perfectly housebroken. Put a leash on and she will nicely walk with you as long as you want. Got an empty pillow? Ally will lay on it for you. And most of all, if you get comfort from a little warm body, she will gladly accommodate you. She plays tug-of-war and loves chewies. Doesn’t bark very much and, even then, it is more just to let you know something is happening. But she also talks, especially to welcome me home.

The down side? She came to us because she was starving to death, which turned out to be a pancreas problem. In a related issue, she is pre-diabetic, currently being managed with a special diet and a pill (about $.25 per day) crushed into her food. Being pre-diabetic also means she cycles through a lot of water and life is better for all if she has dog door access 24-hr. a day.

But she still deserves her own home because she has a lot of love to give!

If you are interested, please contact her foster mom JoAnn at roxymuse@comcast.net and give me a bit of information about how Ally will fit into your household. She is usually at CARE’s Saturday pet fair, but email foster mom JoAnn to make sure she’ll be there when you want to meet her.
